Graff Diamond Watches Reviews

The story started in 1953, when the 15-year old Laurence Graff worked in London as a jewellery apprentice. A few years later, he founded his own brand and explored overseas markets actively. Graff was the first vertically operated jeweller, exploring diamonds from their own mine before design, incision, setting and selling. In 1973, Graff won the first of their four Queen’s Award for Enterprise. That was the first time for a jeweller to achieve the honours. Since then, Graff have firmly established themselves in the world of high jewellery, and boast a client list which includes the likes of Michael Jackson, David and Victoria Beckham.

Making a full foray into watchmaking, Graff Collection One, the debut series of Graff, is inspired by a round-cut diamond. Collaborating with the finest workshops in Swiss horology, from the daily piece GraffStar, chronograph ChronoGraff to MasterGraff tourbillon, each piece is not just meticulously crafted but also bears the original identity of the brand.

Graff GraffStar

With a diameter of 43mm, the finely polished 18k pink gold case of Graffstar has profile characterized by triangle-cut.

The angular crown at 3 o’clock is enhanced by an exquisite diamond full of facets. The white dial is adorned with star-shaped radial pattern. The pink gold dauphine hours and minutes hand match the wedge-shaped hour indexes in the same material well. At 12 o’clock is a pink gold rimmed triangular-cut emerald, a clear stand-out of the whole design. The subsidiary seconds indicated by a pink gold hand stays at 6 o’clock. Along with coffee leather strap, the triangular-cut transparent caseback unveils the self-winding movement inside. The same as the aforementioned one, the model in white gold case is paired with black or white dial and the choices of black and white leather strap are offered. The adjustable deployant clasp is made of the same material as the case. The ladies piece adopts the same design as the men’s, but has its sized reduced to 30mm and powered by a quartz movement. Pairing with a charming green leather strap, the model in white gold casing is simply enticing. Each model of GraffStar limited to 300 pieces worldwide.

Graff ChronoGraff

This chronograph piece has a 45mm triangular-cut pink gold casing. The star-shape area of the black dial is decorated with guilloche while on the outskirt are minute markers in white. The big hour indexes are Arabic numerals in pink gold except the one at 12 o’clock is a triangular-cute emerald. At 6 o’clock is the 12-hour register. The subsidiary seconds and 30-minute register in smaller size stay at 3 and 9 respectively. With a pink gold rim, the screw-in crown is set with a diamond on the top. The self-winding movement inside is displayed through the transparent caseback. Worn on a black alligator strap or yellow rubber strap, the ladies model with diameter of 42mm is also offered. Also available in a sporty version with a black DLC (diamond-like-carbon) finished casing, whose dial features silver indexes, counter rings and indications, as well as a bright-red chronograph seconds hand and minute scale. Two sizes: 45 and 42mm, are available. Just like the pink gold version, each is limited to 500 pieces.

Graff MasterGraff Tourbillon

As a jeweller, making tourbillon is bold statement for Graff that they are serious in watchmaking. MasterGraff has two versions. The self-winding model has a movement provided by Christophe Claret, the eminent complicated timepiece manufactory. The calibre with 72-hour power reserve is fitted in a black DLC casing with a diameter of 47mm. On the dark dial, the flying tourbillon is placed at 6 o’clock. At the centre of the carriage, a red hand runs with the tourbillon to serve as seconds display. The rim of the window is occupied by grey seconds indexes. The huge grey hours and minutes hands are piereced whereas the index at 12 o’clock is still a triangular=cut emerald. At 10 is a date subdial, between it and the tourbillon is an arc for retrograde 24-hour GMT. Worn on black alligator strap, the models in white or pink gold casing are also provided, each limited to 30 pieces. Another version houses a manual-winding movement coming from Technotime. Measuring 45mm, the black DLC casing plays host to a dial with the tourbillon at 9. Topping it is a vertical bridge. The retrograde date stands at 2 o’clock while the 120-hour power reserve is placed at 5. As always, at 12 is a triangular-cut emerald while the crown is topped by a faceted black diamond. Coming with black rubber strap or red leather strap, it is limited to 30.
